While I’ve studied and practiced many different healing modalities over the years, and there are elements of all of them incorporated into a session with me, I am primarily a Rolfer™, working with SourcePoint Therapy®. So if you’re curious, here’s a little more information about both Rolfing® and SourcePoint.
Rolfing
Rolfing Structural Integration is a form of manual therapy that helps the body move with more fluidity and grace. It is concerned with the fascia, or connective tissue, throughout the body.
“Rolfers maintain that the human structure is not fixed, but rather is highly mutable. Structure can deteriorate over time, due to injury, trauma, habits and repetitive patterns that cause inhibitions in movement, which can become chronic restrictions in tissue. However, structure can also change for the better, at almost any point in life.” -The Rolf Institute® Standards of Practice

SourcePoint Therapy
SourcePoint Therapy is a form of energy work developed by a Rolfer, Bob Schrei, and his wife Donna Thomson. It is one way I can “see” the body and its restrictions and holding patterns. I find that working with SourcePoint in my sessions allows me to get to the root of any limitations much faster, while also helping me to see the different layers of a pattern, be they physical, emotional, energetic, or related to trauma. I find that I’m better able to hear and understand each body while working with SourcePoint, making me a more careful, compassionate, and efficient therapist.

What to expect during a session
-You will remain clothed, so please wear something comfortable and not too stiff. Most exercise or loungewear is perfect.
-While Rolfing can be intense, it should not be more uncomfortable than a deep stretch. If you find yourself holding your breath or clenching, it’s too much and I ask that you please let me know.
-Hydration is important before and after each session in order to allow your fascia to move more quickly and easily. If you are sore afterwards, an epsom salt soak can help.
-Each session will be different and based on what your body needs in that moment.
-There will be time allotted for a thorough intake at the beginning, as well as for integration, payment, and scheduling at the end of each session. Hands-on work will be approximately 60-75 minutes of a regular length session.

“I was lucky enough to find Theresa with a google search. She has helped transform my body and mind in such an exceptional way. I would recommend her to everyone. When arriving, it’s such a calm and welcoming space where you instantly feel at ease. She is always willing to sympathetically listen to how you’re doing and it makes you feel at home. During treatment, there is a wash of hopeful energy that transforms into letting go. I always feel whole and grounded after every session which last well into life challenges. I leave with a sense of ease and loving kindness. I am so happy to have found such an excellent light worker that has helped transform my body and mind. Thank you Theresa, for everything.”
